A new photo from the surface of Mars shows the geological features of the planet

Interplanetary station Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has sent to Earth a new picture from the surface of Mars. The photo shows sedimentary deposits and sand dunes.

Photo published on the website NASA. According to the scientists, this shows the geological history of the red planet.

Photo taken with the HiRISE camera. On the picture you can see the light is the sediment. But a recent geological features is the dark sand dunes, which are also visible in the picture.

New photo from Mars

What is known about Mars? It is the fourth planet in the Solar system by distance from the Sun. Mars is also called the “red planet” because of the reddish color of the surface. Mars has meteor craters, like the moon, volcanoes, valleys and deserts, as on Earth.
