Retrospective works of Andy Warhol for the first time since 1989 opens in new York, the city where the most famous artist of pop art has gained international fame.
The exhibition was organized by Donna de salvo, who knew Warhol personally, and who wanted to show one of the most innovative artists of the XX century in its development.
“At the exhibition the audience can get acquainted with the early works of Warhol, which he created when he worked as an Illustrator in new York fashion industry. And then his work of the era of pop art, more revoutionary, which changed the paradigm of the art of painting. And finally, with the works that he created after the 1960s, and which often are considered by critics less interesting and important, “says Donna de salvo.
According to Donna de salvo, Andy Warhol, who died in 1987, was ahead of its time, and therefore still relevant.
The exhibition “Andy Warhol from A to B and back again” will remain in the Museum of American art Whitney until March 31.
