It is necessary to clearly stipulate in the rules for selection to the Eurovision song contest from Ukraine that the artists that are touring or have toured in the territory of the aggressor state shall not be eligible to participate in the national selection. About it on air of TV channel “Direct” said the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine on humanitarian questions Vyacheslav Kirilenko.
This is not some competition where a member or participant involved with his composition. It is a competition which involves representative of the country of Ukraine. He is also representative of our culture
– said Kirilenko.
He added that the representative of Ukraine at the Eurovision song contest must conform to the high status of the representative of the country and not just himself. According to Vice-Prime Minister, therefore, conflict arose around the current selection for the song contest.
“If the demands of society to the representative of Ukraine has not toured in the territory of the aggressor state, likely the REP says “I will not sign such a clause in the contract between me and the “Social TV”, then “Public television”, the question arises: whether it is public TV, or it just has to tick and close my eyes?”, – said Kirilenko.
