The case against Navalny was initiated in mid-June. He is suspected of libel against a veteran of the Second world war Ignat Artemenko who is voting amendments to the Constitution.

On the same day, Public chamber member, lawyer Ilya Craft, posted on his Facebook page a complaint with the Investigative Committee and the Prosecutor’s office of Moscow with a request to check the Bulk statement. Later, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case. In a press release of the Ministry says Artemenko believes that Navalny’s comments “defamed his honor and dignity, resulted in the deterioration of health.”
