The factory racing Department of Yamaha announces full factory support for both teams in World Superbike: PATA GRT Yamaha and Yamaha will have the same factory status, and the pilots – equivalent support and motorcycles.
RACING.RU, 26 Jan 2019 – Alex lowes, Michael van der mark, Marco Melandri and Sandro Cortese in 2019 will compete against the factory teams of Kawasaki and Ducati.
On the first winter tests, which ended yesterday at the Circuito de Jerez, all riders Yamaha was TOP 10, and Alex lowes showed 2nd best time after 4-time world champion from Kawasaki Racing’s Jonathan ray. Moreover, the current World Supersport champion, rookie GRT Yamaha Sandro Cortese, just took in the liter class, became the second Yamaha in the list after a Briton, ahead of van der Mark, and Melandri.
All this suggests that the Yamaha Factory Racing are preparing, if not to overthrow the podium with the Kawasaki, then at least to deprive Ducati the opportunity to compete for prizes. Thus, although it is too early to say for sure, the balance of power in World Superbike changes smoothly and the first round in Australia can present some real surprises regular viewers WSBK.
Yamaha Europe has provided both their team good support: Yamaha Factory Racing GRT French guaranteed the same level of security as Crescent Racing (PATA Yamaha) and Italian manufacturer of snacks PATA acted as the umbrella sponsor of the entire racing Yamaha in World Superbike.
