Want a BMW M5, but in the station wagon? From Alpina is the answer to this question.
Between the premiere of a restyled sample BMW 5-series and the appearance of the version of this model from the Studio Alpina has gone from strength a couple of weeks: definitely, the engineers from Buchloe have access to the internal “kitchen” of the Bavarians. And may have begun work with the motors “five” long before the company told the world about them – with the corresponding results.
Returns the signature of the 4.4-liter V8 that is mounted on the Alpina B5, rose to 621 HP and an impressive 800 Nm of torque (for comparison – the factory BMW M5 Competition has 625 HP and 750 Nm). With this engine, the sedan from Alpina accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, 200 km gain at 11.3 s, and its maximum speed is 330 km/h. Indicators of universal B5 – 3,6 s, 11.9 s, and 322 km/h respectively. Both petrol “five” Alpina supplies the 8-speed automatic and all-wheel drive system, which optionally can be improved hind “sameblock”.
Have Alpina and diesel alternative – the sedan and station wagon with the index D5 S. they are Equipped with three-liter row “six” with three turbochargers which develops 408 HP and 800 Nm available in the range from 1750 to 2750 rpm (the tailors call this rate the best in the segment).
Coupled with the transmission, similar to the petrol variants, the engine accelerates the sedan to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, the wagon at the same exercise will take 4.6 seconds. The maximum speed of 286 and 283 km/h respectively. All family members are equipped with adaptive suspension, steering rear wheels, which can rotate to an angle of 2.3 degrees and powerful brakes with 395 mm discs. Optionally available carbon-ceramic mechanisms.
Changes in appearance that have experienced B5 and D5’s, generally follow the logic of the restyling of the original models. The sedan and wagon got a different front bumpers, the area of the air intakes which are 40% larger than before, upgraded rear bumpers and a digital instrument panel and leather Lavalina in the cabin. And here is a set of corporate colors (primarily, Alpina Blue and Alpina Green) and iconic 20-inch wheel remains unchanged.
Already announced and prices. Sales of new cars in Europe, the Studio will begin in October, and for petrol version will have to pay at least 117 700 € (the price of the wagon – from 120 € 700), while diesel will cost 92 95 500 and 500 euros respectively.
