Infrastructure Minister Vladislav Crickley said that Ukraine is successfully progressing in the implementation of projects to upgrade public transportation in cooperation with the European Investment Bank. Just to update the urban transport in the framework of the program “Urban public transport of Ukraine” will spend 400 million euros, of which 200 million are loans from the EIB.
Contracts with three cities already signed. They involve the purchase of low-floor trolley buses to Lutsk (29 PCs), Kharkov 949 PCs) and Sum (19 PCs.).
Already agreed projects for the modernization of transport in these cities:
Kiev trams 17, 112 buses and cabs for the funicular;
Lions 100 buses and 10 trams, and the reconstruction of trolleybus contact networks and the construction of a bus depot;
Kharkov 35 metro cars;
Chernigov 40 trolleybuses;
Ivano-Frankivsk purchase Babosov, that is, the electric bus with dynamic recharging.
Zaporozhye 20 buses and 26 bus;
Ternopil 15 buses;
Odessa 14 trams;
Nikolaev improvement of public transport infrastructure.
Only on these purposes is planned to spend 400 million euros. The tender on the specified purchase volumes will still be held, so it is too early to talk about the main suppliers. In addition, Vladislav Crickley announced the launch of the approvals of the second phase of the programme “Public transport”.
