The Verkhovna Rada supported the bill on the establishment of the Unified state register of war veterans.
During the first vote was 221 to MP when required 226. The second time, the document failed to be adopted – vote of 237 MPs, reports Bagnet.
“According to information gathered by us, today in Ukraine there are 1.2 million veterans. But this figure is not final. Today there is no Department that can give an exact number of veterans,” – said the Chairman of Committee on Affairs of veterans and individuals with disabilities Alexander Tretyakov, presenting the bill.
He noted that without a unified database of veterans impossible to conduct a systematic and effective sotspolitiki in the sphere of their protection.
The bill provides for the establishment of a clear turnover veterans, identify their needs, rapid decision-making to strengthen their social protection.
Responsible for the formation and maintenance of the register will be the Ministry of veterans.
