The basketball Federation of Ukraine ended the super League season 2019/2020 years in which our Bq “Dnepr” declared the champion. Despite the decision of the Federation, the players continue to train and get into shape for the new season.
Head coach of BC “Dnipro” Denis Zhuravlev said that in the new season the club will participate in qualifying basketball League Champions FIBA. It is reported by the Informant, citing the press service of BC “Dnepr”.
The head coach said that the players almost did not finish the season, and coaches are individual classes with all the players. “We are preparing for next season and are in talks with players about the season. So far we only have plan schedules from FIBA, according to which our first game of Champions League qualification will take place on 15 September and to this date we are preparing. While it is not known whether the first or second round we will participate in qualifying,” said Denis Zhuravlev.
Also the main coach of BC “Dnepr” said that the coaching staff plans to collect the entire team and start team training by the end of July. To start planning with the physical training, which will last about a week, and then will begin training in the basketball gym. “We plan to take part in the Cup of Gorostiza in Lithuania. However, if the situation with coronavirus worsen, we will revise the plans and to plan training in Ukraine”, – he added. Denis Zhuravlev also said that the structure of Bq “Dnepr” left the two players, and legionaries not really in a hurry to sign new contracts because of the situation with the pandemic coronavirus. “As for Iisfa of Sanona, he wants to stay and extend the lease – he is very well started the season, but the injury didn’t allow him to open up completely. The beginning of the season he was one of the best in his career, and so he is secured, I think he should stay with us”, – summed up Denis Zhuravlev.
