In Los Angeles, December 14, will open the Museum of the Academy of motion picture arts and Sciences. Among the first filmmakers who expressed their wish to cooperate with him, including Directors Pedro almodóvar, spike Lee, composer Hildur Gudnadottir and sound designer Ben Burtt, who worked on “Star wars” and films about Indiana Jones, says Variety.
“We open the Academy Museum with exhibitions and programs that illuminate the complex and fascinating world of movie – its art, technology, artists, history, and social impact – using the varied and interesting voices. We will tell the history of filmmaking – a festive, educational, and sometimes critical and uncomfortable. Based on unique collections and expertise of the Academy, the first exhibition of the Museum will make it absolutely exceptional in the film world”, – quotes the edition of the Museum Director bill Kramer.
Extensive Museum of the Academy will be located at Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue. Several permanent exhibitions are devoted to such films as “the Wizard of Oz”, “Citizen Kane”, “the Matrix” and the films of Studio Ghibli Hayao Miyazaki.
