According to recent research, spicy foods, especially chili, are the secret to a healthy long life. Eating spicy foods often protect people from early death, regardless of whether they adhered to a healthy diet or not, reports newsyou.info.
An interesting fact is that protection against risk of early death is not dependent on the type of diet followed by the people. In other words, someone can maintain a healthy Mediterranean diet, someone else may eat less healthy foods, but they all chilli has a protective effect.
In 2015, the American, British and Chinese scientists have shown that men and women who daily ate spicy food, the risk of early death decreased by 14 percent. More precisely, they are less likely to die from heart disease, cancer and respiratory disease than those who rarely ate spicy food. Fresh and dried chili peppers was the most consumed spice among the study participants.
Of the 22 811 men and women who participated in the study, 1236 died in an average of 8.2 years. Those who regularly ate chili, had a lower risk of dying from coronary heart disease and cerebrovascular diseases (e.g. stroke, aneurysms), than those who rarely or never consumed the spice. Meanwhile, participants who suffered from hypertension, had a lower risk of early death due to the diseases mentioned above.
These results led to the conclusion that daily consumption of chili peppers may reduce the risk of death from cardiovascular disease, regardless of risk factors and type of your diet.
