BMW has entered the market for hybrid and all-electric machines with their I-series, but have not yet done the same in the world of motorcycles. Of course, the Bavarian manufacturer introduced electric scooter C Evolution about five years ago with quite decent characteristics, however, the model has not received wide distribution. It is expected that the new electric motorcycle will be the impetus for the company in the right direction.
Vision DC Roadster still looks almost the same as if it was taken from a sci-Fi novel than as the vehicle is ready to start selling. But now he was getting to be like it is on the bike.
We see progress in how the company thinks about electric motorcycles. The design of the Central block Vision aims to mimic the appearance of the famous BMW Boxer.
In the center, instead of two cylinders, the battery is mounted vertically inside the frame, on the sides both sides are cooling elements intended to reproduce the signature profile Boxer. The arches mimic the curves of the tank in the absence of actual. Use lines to create illusions that replaces the familiar features that helps to create a recognizable silhouette, but also reduces weight.
In this construction, power is transmitted to the rear axle through a shaft that does not require maintenance. The driver sits on the floating up the saddle, which gives the design a dynamic counter and creates a silhouette like an arrow, pointing forward.
Of course, like Vision Next 100, DC new Roadster is just a vision of the future, but I guess BMW gets a clearer idea of what it should be.
