A major canadian distribution and metal processing company Nova Tube & Steel announced its intention to build in the us state of Ohio a new plant for the production of welded pipes.
Production capacity is not specified. The volume of investments into the project will amount to more than $70 million the plant will have a two mills, which will be produced in the hollow profile and the standard round pipe.
Start of construction is scheduled for mid of this year. While Nova Steel expects that the new plant will be commissioned before the end of 2021.
According to the company, the location of the new enterprise was chosen due to the fact that in the immediate vicinity of the site there is a plant of North Star BlueScope, which itself is expanding its capacity and is considered as the best supplier of the strip. In addition, it can be convenient to put difficult products in Canada and in industrial Ohio and Michigan.
