Analytical company Canalys released a report on the Indian smartphone market for the second quarter of 2020. Analysts say that because of the coronavirus sales fell by 48% compared to the same period last year.
Total smartphone shipments in India amounted to 17.3 million With 80% of the Indian smartphone market is captured by Chinese brands. Moreover, they received three of the top four places in the ranking.
So, the first place was Xiaomi with a share of 30.9% and a volume of 5.3 million shares. This represents a fall of 48% in volume compared to last year. In second place – Vivo with 21.3%, 3.7 million and a fall of 36%. The fourth – OPPO from 12.9%, 2.2 million, and a fall of 27%.
In third place was able to advance Korea’s Samsung with a market share of 16.8%, the supply of 2.9 million and falling by an impressive 60%.
Located on the fifth Chinese Realme with 10% of 1.7 million and a sales decline of 35%.
Note that India is now the second largest smartphone market in the world, second only to China.
