Clothing the legendary French actress will go under the hammer at Christie’s auction in Paris
In the collection of Catherine Deneuve presented variety of dresses, jackets with fur, luxurious black suits and pants, outerwear, shoes and accessories in different years made for her by the famous French couturier Yves Saint Laurent.
The auction will be held in Paris during fashion Week on January 24. They will put about 150 lots, and the rest of the collection will be sold in the online auction.
In General, the hammer will go almost 300 lots as the evening dress, in which the star was on social events and everyday wardrobe. The starting price of lots ranges from 100-200 euros for silk clutch bag, handbag made from Python or shoes Deneuve and up to 3-5 thousand euros over embroidered with glass beads pale pink gown of 1969 in which actress met with Director Alfred Hitchcock.
Catherine Deneuve is one of the symbols of French cinema. The actress became a star at the start of their career after the role of Genevieve in the movie “the umbrellas of Cherbourg”.
Deneuve, and Saint Laurent met in 1965. Since then, they struck up a friendship and close collaboration which lasted several decades. The designer was famous for having entered into women’s fashion items of the male wardrobe – leather jackets, thigh and tuxedos. It is also considered the founder of the unisex style.
