Advisor to the darknet Silk Road pleaded guilty for participating in a conspiracy to distribute drugs, during a hearing in Federal court in Manhattan.

According to a press release of the Ministry of justice of 30 January, Roger Thomas Clark (Roger Thomas Clark) was a key figure in the development of the Silk Road, advising the founder on all aspects of the activities, and tried to order murder to protect their interests.

The Creator of Silk Road Ross Ulbricht (Ross Ulbricht) described Clarke, known by the online alias “Variety Jones”, “Plural of Mongoose” as a “real mentor” and a security consultant and site work.

Clark helped Ulbricht to not only create the infrastructure of the site, but also tells how to hide and sell the Silk Road, and was responsible for the collection of information during the investigation of Silk Road power.

In addition, Clark is accused of attempting to murder a paid employee of Silk Road, who is suspected in the kidnapping of $350 000 in bitcoin (BTC) with the darknet.

Darknet Silk Road was created by Ulbricht in January 2011 and operated until 2013. He used to sell drugs, illegal goods and services with the help of bitkine.

Prisoner Ulbricht has a lot of support in the cryptocurrency community, and recently Tim Draper urged his release. Ulbricht himself is a supporter of bitcoin, recently predicting that the price in 2020 will be $100 000.

New data suggest that the use of cryptocurrency in darknet in the past year increased. A recent report by the new York blockchain analysis company Chainalysis suggests that the darknet markets have significantly increased their share in the total number of input cryptocurrencies in 2019, double from 0.04% in 2018 to 0.08%.
