The absolute world champion in the heavyweight Alexander Usik (16-0, 12 KOs) agreed to fight with Cameroonian Carlos Takama (36-5-1, 28 KO’s).
The fight will take place on may 18 in Chicago. For Ukrainians it will debut in the heavyweight division. This was reported in his Twitter journalist the Ring Mike Coppinger.
Coppinger called Takama is the perfect opponent for the debut of the Mustache in the heavyweight division. On account of the 38-year-old Frenchman 42 battle in which he won 36 wins (28 early), one draw and lost five times (three times ahead of schedule). Including Povetkin in October 2014.
Takam is generally inferior in virtually all fights with serious opponents, when they received the right to fight for the title. On Tuesday, March 19, the world Boxing Association (WBA) has obliged Alexander Usik to conduct the defense of his belt against Russian Denis Lebedev (32-2, 23 KO’s).
His last fight Usyk came against Tony Bellew (30-3-1, 20 KOS), having sent the rival to a knockout in the eighth round. Thus, the Ukrainian defended all the champion titles in heavy weight.
