In September last year, Apple released an update to macOS Mojave. The operating system came to be extremely stable, but sometimes problems can occur. One of the most well-known problem is quick battery run the MacBook in sleep mode. In very advanced cases, the laptop can be fully discharged for the whole night. Most often the problem lies in the macOS, which means that it will be easy to resolve on their own. You only need to use the command line.
So, how to fix the problem with fast battery MacBook in sleep mode?
- Run the application “Terminal” using Spotlight or any other convenient method.
- In the command prompt window we have to enter the following command:
pmset -g assertions
- Displays the parameters for detailed power management settings. The team will identify the problematic app or service which allows your Mac to sleep. If the opposite of the parameters “PreventSystemSleep” or “PreventUserIdleSystemSleep” is 1, it means that part of the process cannot be completed for the transition to the sleep mode. If there is a number 0 – it means hibernate is functioning properly.
In that case, if the manual termination of the service or process has not produced the desired effect, alternately use the following commands at the command prompt:
sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 25
sudo pmset -a standby 1
sudo pmset -a standbydelaylow 60
sudo pmset -a standbydelayhigh 60
Use these commands to allow your Mac to correctly go into sleep mode, additional action by the user is not required.
