Homemade cars from Soviet times were no worse than a serial from the factory. Craftsmen would sometimes create very good copies.
In Penza there is an unusual SUV, made by a local craftsman. Machine built back in 1982 from parts from many different Soviet vehicles, according to Drive2.
Self-made cars, as they say, the blind that was. It grille borrowed from the VAZ-2107 and lights and door handles – the Volga. Lights took the Lada-penny, and rear side window – the Cossacks. VAZ-2101 became the donor for the front panel in the cabin.
The SUV’s engine from VAZ-2103 and rear axle – from the Volga GAZ-31029. There are four-wheel drive with razdatkoy from the Fields, although in the summer the owner took it for repair.
By the way, similar home-made SUV exists in Ukraine, and it was even put up for sale.
