Crimean ex-Prosecutor declared in Ukraine in suspicion of treason

The Prosecutor’s office of Autonomous Republic of Crimea reported about suspicion of treason to the former Prosecutor of Razdolnensky district.

“During the investigation of criminal proceedings it is established that on the basis of indications of employees of so-called “Department of the MIA of Russia in the Razdolnensky area” Razdolnensky district court sentenced under article 319 of the criminal code concerning the citizen of Ukraine and appointed punishment in the form of 320 hours of compulsory work for the alleged humiliation of a representative of “law enforcement Agency” invaders during an illegal search,” – said in the message.

The above sentence is illegal, because justice in Ukraine and, in particular, on the territory temporarily occupied the Peninsula should be exclusively in the manner and on the basis of the legislation of Ukraine.

In turn, the Prosecutor’nens’kyi district, who entered the service of the invaders, realizing the illegality informed of the sentence of the court, contrary to the Convention for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms and the Convention on the protection of civilian persons in time of war, demanded changes in punishment according to the sentence of 320 hours of compulsory work for a more severe sentence of 40 days imprisonment. As a result, the court granted the petition of the Prosecutor, and changed the punishment to the citizen of Ukraine, thus violating the right of Ukrainians to liberty and security of person and fair trial.

In accordance with article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proved through legal procedure and established?? a court conviction.
