President Vladimir Zelensky has signed into law a bill which continues the reform of the tax and customs and introduces the possibility of automation of customs clearance.
The law of Ukraine from 14.01.2020, No. 440-IX officially published on 12 February 2020, and entered into force the following day.
“The changes adopted is a continuation of the reform of the State tax service of Ukraine and the State customs service of Ukraine and aimed at strengthening the openness, transparency and the introduction of modern approaches in their activities”, – stated in the message.
Note that the law provides for the functioning of the STS and GTS in the format of a single legal entities and will create information base on the customs value of goods transported across the customs border of Ukraine, on the basis of anonymised information on export-import operations.
“The implementation of the provisions of the law will contribute to the automation and transparency of customs procedures and prevent corruption in this sphere”, – added the press service.
I should add that the document introduces regular disclosure of customs information regarding customs value of goods transported across the customs border of Ukraine, regulates the use of electronic documents and electronic documents in customs.
