Czech diplomatic mission in Ukraine has resumed consular services, aimed at the issuance of work visas to Ukrainians. Consulate General in Lviv has started to accept visa application forms and documents on Friday, may 22, the Czech Embassy in Kiev will open the visa Department on Monday, may 25, according to Radio Prague.
“After repeated negotiations with the Ukrainian authorities we were able to reach agreement and partly to resume the visa process. The Czech economy needs the Ukrainian workers. We strive to simplify the situation of the Czech health care and agriculture, which is not enough seasonal workers from abroad,” said Friday the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic tomáš Petricek.
Directly on the territory of the Czech Republic will be able to apply for extension of residence permit of highly qualified Ukrainian specialists in the sphere of health, social services, and scientific staff, students and their relatives who are currently in the Czech Republic. “Submission of documents by the visa application centres in Ukraine is not possible, as the Central Ukrainian authorities in connection with the epidemiological situation was not given permission to resume their work,” – explained Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs Martin Smolek.
