They learned about 50 thousand adult patients with hypertension. It turned out that 1 person out of 300 taking these drugs can cause heart attack or stroke. The scientists said that patients who regularly take ibuprofen may experience a stroke or heart attack, after 4 weeks of ibuprofen in 1 of 330 people were diagnosed with a stroke or heart attack.

“In turn, celecoxib was even more dangerous and led to the same outcome of one of 105 people. Heart attack or stroke occurred in one out of 245 and one of 214 subjects using diclofenac and naproxen respectively,” – said the scientists. They stressed that out of the entire group pain medication the safest medication were mefenamic acid, however, it can cause a stroke or heart attack in 1 patient of 394.
