“The second of January all subdivisions of SE “VostGOK” resumed work after a forced temporary downtime and commenced the production program of January 2020. The advance was carried out a complex of measures on labour protection and training of machinery and equipment for safe operation”, – is spoken in the message.
The company noted that during November-December 2019 and Ingulsky mines was carried out Novokonstantinovskaya uranium mining, accumulated stock of raw materials as in HMP, and the warehouses of mines for the smooth operation of uranium production the hydrometallurgical plant, the launch of which is planned for January 8.
In addition, Dneprodzerzhinsk chemical plant provided in November-December last year, the production of hafnium-Nickel alloys in full and began working on the implementation of production plans 2020.
As you know, 4 Nov 2019, units of the SE “VostGOK” were in a temporary simple. The reason is a discriminatory low price on finished products, adopted by the National Commission, carrying out state regulation in the energy and utilities that led to the financial problems of the enterprise.
The management of GP “VostGOK” and SC “Nuclear fuel” had to solve the problems of the ongoing work of the plant in 2019 and the planning of its activities in 2020. Last month the Department of energy and environmental protection held five meetings on the problems of Eastern Mining, and the Minister’s position in this situation was clear: the price of uranium needs to be revised. As a result of discussions the price of the main products of the plant for 2020 laid down in the contract for the purchase of raw uranium with the state enterprise “NAEK “Energoatom”, managed to significantly increase. It is formed, based on calculations made by experts VostGOK, and will 100% cover the costs associated with the work of all departments.
In addition, it was agreed with Energoatom for advance transfer of funds of East mine in 2019 for a future contract. This allowed in November and December to implement and Novokonstantinovskaya on Ingulsky mines the mining of uranium ore, which will serve as raw material for the production of finished products in January 2020.
In this regard, the last two months of 2019, the company had to finish in a compressed mode, which allowed to save about UAH 400 mn to enter into normal mode of operation from January 2020.
SE “VostGOK” is among the ten largest uranium producers (2% of world production) and is the only company in Ukraine which provides the extraction of uranium ore and production of concentrate of natural uranium. The company provides up to 40% in uranium demand Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
SE “VostGOK” has production sites in Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions, three uranium mines, three plants, about 20 divisions. This gives you the opportunity to provide a full cycle of works on extraction and processing of uranium ore.
