During the official visit of President of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania the first lady familiarized herself with the peculiarities of healthy nutrition and physical education in local schools.
“Representatives of the Ministry of health of the Republic of Lithuania presented its experience in the implementation of the programme of healthy nutrition. Reform school meals and approaches to school sports in Ukraine is a priority for first lady. For qualitative implementation of the project is important the experience of other countries in this direction”, – stated in the message.
As noted, representatives of the Ministry of health of Lithuania said that a few years ago the country was similar to Ukraine’s problems with school nutrition. There were a lot of complaints from students and parents about the value of food, its taste and appearance.
The situation was handled by a special Commission created at the state level. It included experts in public nutrition, dietitians, representatives of relevant ministries, as well as the parent community and school self-government bodies.
“Based on the monitoring recommendations were made on healthy eating and balanced diet, as well as the list of prohibited for use in school cafeterias products. One of the stages of implementation of the program was the training of senior officials from the administration of educational institutions to the staff cafeterias, and buffets”, – explained in the message.
As reported, on 26 and 27 November the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky with his wife Helen and a large Ukrainian delegation, while in Tallinn and Vilnius, held important meetings and negotiations, and signed several bilateral documents on cooperation.
