The Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleg Nemchinov in the video spoke with the head of Group of support of Ukraine in the European Commission Peter Wagner and EU Ambassador to Ukraine Matti Maasikas.
As he said on his page on Facebook, the parties discussed a number of topical issues.
“Ukraine, like the whole world is going through a crisis associated with the pandemic coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, and the efforts of the Ukrainian government focused on the appropriate response. EU will help Ukraine in the fight against coronavirus and overcoming its consequences,” wrote Nemchinov.
According to him, in particular, it is possible to count on the support of the health system and strengthening coordination at the international level, support of hospitals “first line” of protection, which is struggling with the pandemic. The EU can help in solving social issues like care for older people, online education, child care, and provide credit support to small and medium businesses for a quick exit from the crisis.
“Along with the anti-crisis measures, the government plans to accelerate and deepen reform in various spheres, including the implementation of public administration reform in accordance with European principles. And I, as a Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers, confirmed the irreversibility of reforms in public administration to build an effective and modern state apparatus, able to efficiently respond to challenges”, – said Minister of the Cabinet.
Nemchinov, on behalf of the new government expressed gratitude to the EU for the comprehensive support to Ukraine in implementing reforms. The EU representatives confirmed their readiness to continue the existing support instruments and create new ones.
As reported, on March 25, the Ukrainian government imposed a state of emergency throughout the country and has extended the quarantine until April 24.
As of 10:00 on March 26 in Ukraine 156 laboratory-confirmed cases Covid-19, including 5 deaths, 1 patient recovered and discharged from hospital.
