Festival “Griffin” in the Chersonese was visited by more than nine thousand people

On 27 and 28 July on the territory of the Museum complex, Tauric Chersonesos was a large musical-historical festival “Chersonese-2019. Griffin”, which brought together more than 100 re-enactors from different regions of Russia. About it reports a press-service of the Ministry of culture of the Russian Federation.

So, the festival attracted more than 9 thousand people.

“For two days at the site of the Ancient theatre there was fighting in armor of different eras. The festival opened with a procession from the tower of Zeno on stage the oldest in the Northern black sea region ancient theatre, which brought together all participants in costumes that reflect the history of different periods, chronologically, covering more than 1500 years”, – told the press service.

On the territory of Chersonesos worked artists Alley, where there were master-classes in pottery, leather, woodwork, weaving and jewelry crafts, glass manufacture, coinage, and other ancient and medieval occupations.

Additionally, the mini-exhibition in the Port area was submitted to medieval life. In the Byzantine courtyard reenactors showed the guests of the festival a re-enactment of the marriage of Prince Vladimir and Princess Anna.

The press service added that at the end of the musical-historical festival “Griffin” the festival organizers awarded the participants with diplomas and gratitudes of the Museum-reserve “Chersonese”, and also presented medals for prizes in duels and battles.

The festival ended with the premiere performance of “Griffin” on the new stage of the Museum-reserve.
