Today, the release of Mozilla Firefox 75 offers users with an updated address bar, and a number of other changes. It was also announced that Mozilla will continue to release updates for your browser in accordance with the previously approved schedule, despite the pandemic coronavirus.
The biggest changes were the address bar. If you click it, a popup window will appear using which you can not only quickly switch to one of the most frequently visited pages, but also to change the search engine.
If a frequently used website is already open in one of browser tabs in the popup window, it will be marked with a special icon, clicking on which you can immediately move to the open view tabs. Similarly marked all open in tabs page if the user carries out re-search.
Other changes relate to security fixes and adding several new features. For example, now Firefox will cache locally all the trusted certificates of the PKI Web known Mozilla. This approach will improve the HTTPS incorrectly configured web sites and increase the level of security. Linux users can install the new Firefox through the use of utility Flatpak.
The developers also announced that Mozilla does not expect major changes in the schedule of the updates because of the situation caused by the pandemic coronavirus. This message appeared after Google announced the suspension of the release of planned updates for its Chrome browser, except for the security packages.
“We know that now is the time when our users depend on Firefox, which ensures uninterrupted access to vital medical and governmental services so we have taken steps to avoid delays in delivery of updates, which could adversely affect user experience and the functioning of important sites. For example, we have made it a priority of solving problems with video, which is currently used especially actively. In the future we will continue to learn new functions and planned changes, paying more attention to backward compatibility and their potential in solving problems faced by users, “- said in a statement Mozilla.
Now users can update Firefox to the latest version from the menu browser or to download the latest version on the official website.
