The flooding started with heavy rains on Friday night in the district Coskuner Nangarhar province in Eastern Afghanistan.
According to the representative of the local administration, the flood destroyed several houses. Killing 16 people, including a woman and 12 children, four more children unaccounted for.
As noted, the district conducted search and rescue operation. Affected families receive humanitarian assistance.
