For the money the EBRD in Ukraine will build four plants for processing of sunflower husk in electricity

За деньги ЕБРР в Украине построят четыре завода по переработке лузги подсолнечника в электроэнергию

The European Bank for reconstruction and development has allocated 56 million USD for the construction of four plants for processing of sunflower husk into electricity.

Under the project, the capacity of power generation facilities running on biomass will be 47 MW, reports writes View.

The EBRD provided a loan of four Ukrainian companies of the group Kernel leading and largest in Ukraine producer and exporter of sunflower oil, as well as the main supplier of agricultural products from the region of the black sea basin to world markets.

Borrowers will have to build plants with modern plants for processing biomass into “green” energy on the existing production sites located in Ukraine.

Selected companies will also receive a tranche in the amount of 8 million USD from the clean technology Fund.

Legal Advisor to the EBRD in connection with a secured term loan made by the company Redcliffe Partners.

The project will make a significant contribution to ensuring energy independence of Ukraine, as well as the protection and reduction of environmental pollution.
