Earlier this year Ford of Europe announced models Transit Custom and Tourneo Custom is Active, and new version for vans Transit and Transit Custom.
Now it’s time to learn more about the new Tourneo Connect is Active and the van, the Transit Connect is Active, which provide additional capabilities when driving off-road is embodied in more daring styles.
As in other Ford models marked Active, Transit Connect and Tourneo Connect turned special off-road style, including durable anti-slip plate and the lining body, standard roof rails, as well as increased ground clearance by 24 mm in front and 9 mm at the rear.
Other updates include 17-inch wheels, the signature mesh grille, two new exterior colors (Sedona Orange and Silver Solar) and the icons are “Active” on the front fenders and tailgate.
Active Transit Connect and Tourneo Connect is Active, which can be ordered in the near future throughout Europe, can be purchased with an optional mechanical differential with limited slip (mLSD), developed jointly with Quaife to improve traction. The model also has individual configuration of the Traction Control for more efficient operation of the system with the characteristics of mLSD.
Inside specware Active also features sporty trim, including exclusive patterns seat trim and contrast stitching, nameplates indicating the special model and the metal sill of the front doors. The list of equipment included in the package of driver assistance systems and technologies of comfort features.
Tourneo Connect Active continues to offer five – and seven-seater version, while the Transit Connect Active keeps the volume of cargo compartment 2.9 cu. m for the standard wheelbase or 3.6 cubic feet for long-wheelbase modification, and maximum payload is 982 kg.
Both van equipped with a 1.5-liter turbodiesel engine EcoBlue Ford rated at 100 HP or 120 HP, Available six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission and mLSD are offered with a more powerful engine combined with a manual transmission.
