FoxNext Games, the game division of film Studio 20th Century Fox, announced the creation of a Fund that will support independent developers. The first game, once in the program, was the puzzle Etherborn. Other entertainment will be announced later this year.
The company did not disclose how much money they give indie developers, and do not specify platform, which will work. Vice President external development FoxNext T. Q. Jefferson (TQ Jefferson) commented on this event:
“As passionate about the game, we were looking for like-minded people concentrated on innovation, experimentation and a certain level of creative risk. We want to work with inspiring games makers, providing the support they need to develop the best games and communicate with the widest possible audience”.
In addition to video game FoxNext deals with virtual reality and theme parks. The company was formed in January 2017 due to the success of the horror Alien: Isolation mobile and The Simpsons: Tapped Out, as well as in connection with the growing prospects of VR and AR.
Etherborn developed Studio Altered Matter, which describes their game like a platformer-puzzle game “is based on understanding structures with variable gravity”. Release entertainment is planned this spring on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
