The Greek authorities since August 1, will allow cruise liners to dock in six port cities.
This was stated by the country’s tourism Minister Haris theoharis, reports Greek City Times.
“Greece welcomes all the cruise ships to offer a unique experience to all passengers… Greece is the first country that responds to the cruise ship industry and implements sanitation procedures for this form of tourism. Treatments of health, to be applied under the supervision of the Greek authorities on cruise ships, based on published standards of the European Union, but they were adapted to Greek legislation and internal data,” said theoharis.
As noted, the Saturday cruise ships are allowed to moor in the ports of Piraeus, Rhodes, Heraklion, Volos, Corfu and Katakolo.
This list will later be expanded depending on the development of the situation with coronavirus.
As reported, as early on 30 July in the world recorded more than 17.1 million cases of coronavirus COVID-19. In particular, Greece was 4 336 cases, of which 1 374 persons recovered.
