The government has drafted a plan of activities under the second phase of decentralization reform in Ukraine.
Prime Minister Groysman called reform in this area – one of the most successful acts of its kind. It quoted the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to the head of the government, the authorities need to consolidate the result and go to work on new elements of the reform.
Among the new tasks the approval of the new territorial framework of Ukraine. Its composition should include hundreds of districts and communities 1600-1800.
Also the government must fix the financial sustainability of local government, establish effective mechanisms of management, to put in order the system of government regulation and to avoid duplication of functions in various organs.
“We need to develop forms of direct democracy – to improve the electoral legislation and build mechanisms for holding local referendums, so citizens had the opportunity to Express their position and make decisions not from election to election, and in the process of life. People should say its final word on various issues,” he said Groisman.
