Harvard presented the award to the player in American football

Former American football player Colin Kapernick, actively opposes racial inequality, received the award at Harvard University. The medal he was awarded for his contribution to the development of the culture and history of the black population.

Colin Kapernick attracted public attention two years ago. Before one of the games he refused to stand during the performance of the American anthem and instead pointedly knelt. Thus he expressed a protest against police brutality towards African Americans.

Recently Kapernick became the face of Nike’s advertising. Some Americans were dissatisfied with this selection of the world famous brand. In protest they burned sneakers and tore the clothing of the sports brand.
