Due to losses sustained by the Treasury of Ukraine through the signing of gas contracts with Russia in 2009, every Ukrainian family is irrevocably lost 60 thousand UAH, recalled in “Naftogaz” on the eve of the anniversary – January 19 marks the 10th anniversary of signing a deal with Russia’s Gazprom.
So, for the time elapsed from the date of signing of the agreements, Ukraine has lost 32.1 billion dollars, and in that case, if “Naftogaz” has not won a lawsuit in the Stockholm arbitration, these losses would represent more of 94.7 billion, or 177 thousand UAH for every Ukrainian family. This was described in detail Andriy KOBOLEV on air of one of Ukrainian TV channels.
“Gas contracts with “Gazprom” in the format in which they were concluded in 2009, became a heavy burden for Ukraine. Asymmetric responsibilities of the parties for its obligations put “Naftogaz” at risk extortionate fines, while Gazprom has given Ukraine promises not guaranteed penalties. It was probably the worst contracts in the history of independent Ukraine”, – said Chairman of the Board “Naftogaz” Andrew KOBOLEV.
Among the violations of “Gazprom” – outstanding obligations in terms of transit and attempts of political blackmail Ukraine with the aim to obtain a reasonable price or continue transit.
“One of the most tough conditions of the Russian monopoly was the refusal of the Association of Ukraine with the EU. A political condition that was proposed by the Russians in exchange for a discount on discriminatory rates, was the prolongation of the bases of the black sea fleet in Crimea, which started the occupation of the Peninsula,” States the company.
