Russian security services made a mistake and underestimated the capabilities of the UK, said the head of the SBU
Russia will never agree to give even disclosed their agents, because it would be a blow to the system of special services.
This was stated by the Chairman of the security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Hrytsak in an interview with “Voice of America”.
He congratulated the opening of two Russian agents involved in poisoning Sergei Skripal in Salisbury – an international investigation group Bellingcat. The head of the SBU also said that the Russian intelligence services made a mistake and underestimated the possibility of the UK.
Vasyl Hrytsak said that the SBU cooperates with Western colleagues to identify crimes of Russia in other countries.
“Beginning of the end is to underestimate the fact that he can do the enemy. I’d chalk it up to the fact that they got complacent and made mistakes. In fact, we are dealing with one of the most powerful intelligence agencies in the world. They probably underestimated the ability of the British people”, – said Hrytsak.
In early September British prosecutors have named two suspects in the attempted attack on the life of Sergei and Yulia Violinists in Salisbury: Alexander Petrov, and Ruslan Bashirov.
Prime Minister Theresa may said that they are officers of Russian special services.
During the investigation, international investigation team “Bellingham” found out that real name Ruslan Bashirov – Anatoly Chapiha. He is a GRU Colonel and awarded the title “Hero of Russia”.
In addition, revealed the personality of Alexander Petrov. He is also an officer of the GRU, and his real name is Alexander Mishkin. It was covered by the name Alexander Petrov from 2010. With a passport in that name often went to the Ukraine and the breakaway Transnistria. In particular, I was in Kiev during revolution of Dignity in December 2013. To identify Mishkin helped the villagers and people personally acquainted with him.
