In a special event Huawei and Chinese carmaker BYD has announced the release of the first car in the world running an operating system HarmonyOS. In addition, it is also the first commercial model based on the platform of Huawei HiCar, which is a more advanced version of Google’s Android Auto and Apple’s CarPlay.
The first car running HarmonyOS became the new BYD Han-enabled networks of the fifth generation, according to gizmochina.
This is the first vehicle that uses platform Huawei HiCar. Unlike Android Auto and CarPlay, which provides access to applications only through a multimedia console auto, the new system allows remotely via a smartphone to control various functions. For example, using a mobile device, you can unlock and lock doors, raise and lower glass, climate control, and perform other actions.
BYD Han is the first model running HarmonyOS
In the future the system HiCar will be available on more than 120 car models from more than 30 different car manufacturers including Audi, BYD, GAC and BAIC.
In honor of the announcement of BYD Han, Huawei also showed a special version of the flagship smartphone P40.
