Reportedly network sources, Huawei is preparing to release the flagship processor for smartphones HiliSilicon Kirin 985. The novelty will replace the powerful Kirin 980, and present it in the second half of 2019 (probably at IFA 2019).
As reported by Gizmochina, Kirin 985 combines eight cores: Duo ARM Cortex-A76 with a clock frequency of 2.6 GHz, Duo ARM Cortex-A76 with a frequency of 1.96 GHz and Quartet ARM Cortex-A55 with a frequency of 1.8 GHz. For graphics processing meets the integrated accelerator ARM Mali-G76.
CPU Kirin 985, most likely, will inherit the key architectural features of its predecessor. The chip can get improved neuroprocessor modules designed to accelerate operations related to artificial intelligence and machine learning.
It is noted that the processor will be manufactured on 7-nanometer technology EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet Light). Chip will find use in flagship smartphones Huawei new generation.
