German carmaker Daimler has stated that it does not deal with North Korea and doesn’t know his armored limousine at the disposal of the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-UN.
“We have absolutely no idea how these cars were delivered to North Korea. For Daimler, the correct export of goods in accordance with the law is a fundamental principle of responsible business”, – said the representative of the automaker.
Selling North Korea luxury goods, including limousines, prohibited by the UN sanctions, adopted for the purpose of forcing the DPRK to renounce nuclear weapons.
Kim Jong-UN surprised the observers with their limousines in the course of a number of high-level meetings, including with presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald trump.
During the recent summit in Vladivostok, the head of the DPRK waited at the station two limousine – the Mercedes Maybach S600 Pullman Guard Mercedes Maybach S62. The leader of North Korea, apparently, used S600 Pullman Guard and during summits with trump in Singapore in June 2018 and in Hanoi in February this year.
Daimler – one of the leaders in the production of luxury cars. It supplies its products to almost all States and has plants in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa.
BMW and Daimler want to jointly develop platform for electric vehicles.
In early April, the European Commission said the German automakers Volkswagen, BMW and Daimler about suspicions regarding possible cartel in which they participate.
Daimler is close to an agreement on the sale of a 50% division Smart Chinese company Geely.
