The coast guard boat in the night on Sunday collided on a rocky promontory near the Finnish city of Loviisa (Loviisa) and sank, resulting in one sailor killed, according to the Department of coast guard of Finland, Interfax reported.
On Board were three crew members, two were rescued. The coast guard took them off the boat and was taken by helicopter of the border guard in the hospital. A sailor could not get out of the boat, infused with sea water, said the Department.
At the scene was sent patrol boats of the coast guard of the Gulf of Finland, the rescue helicopter of the border service of Finland, as well as emergency services and police. Police are investigating the causes.
Sunken patrol boat was a 10-metre vessel that is used in various missions of the Coast guard.
