In Kharkov fined protester, who drove the car on the sidewalk under RSA

Leader of public organization “Anticorruption unit of the ATO participants” Anton Sosnitsky, who on January 23 during protests drove his car onto the sidewalk under the building of the Kharkiv regional state administration, fined for violation of traffic rules.

About this Sosnitsky told UKRINFORM.

“The patrol was on me the administrative report according to p. 1 article 121 of the code of administrative offences. The police determined that I was in breach of paragraph 11.13 of the SDA, which prohibited the movement of vehicles on sidewalks and footpaths,” said Sosnitsky.

According to him, he was fine of 255 UAH for violation of the rules of the road. “This is more true because before I was accused of hooliganism”, – said the activist.

As reported by UKRINFORM, on January 23 in Kharkiv, 35-year-old driver-a foreigner on Infiniti Q50 car in a crosswalk hit and killed 19-the summer guy who has died before arrival of doctors. The driver detained in order St. 208 criminal code of Ukraine. Open criminal proceedings under part 2 of article 286 (violation of traffic safety or transport operation) with the sanction of up to eight years of imprisonment.

On the same day in the evening near the building of Kharkiv regional state administration, the leader of the public organization “Kharkov anti-corruption center of ATO participants” Anton Sosnitsky organized a protest demanding a tougher line to respond to violations of traffic rules by drivers of vehicles with foreign registration. Sosnitsky drove his car onto the sidewalk in front of the door of the Kharkiv regional state administration and climbed on him with a poster “Give security”. Other participants lit flares.

In response, the Chairman of Kharkiv regional state administration Alexey Kucher expressed surprise that more stringent punishment for violation of traffic rules requires a person who himself violates them and called Sosnitsky to refer to themselves in a lawful manner.

On the same day on the given fact initiated criminal proceedings under part 1 of article 296 (hooliganism) of the criminal code of Ukraine.

Sosnitsky has declared intention to address in the GBR with a complaint of abuse of power on the part of the driver, because the activist alleged it became known that the Chairman of the RSA “personally called the leadership of the police in Kharkiv region and demanded to give me a suspicion of committing hooliganism”.
