Zaporozhye photographer Alexander Maksimov opened the exhibition “this and that”
Alexander Maximov, planned to open the exhibition in March, birthday. This kind of annual “report” photographer spends 20 years. The quarantine was amended in timing, and in the very exposition.
“A different me
-Mood was a desperate, even had thoughts – and whether you want it to do? – says, “Industriale” Alexander Maximov. In connection with quarantine have revised some exhibition. I wanted to show a more light, bright, cheerful photos.
There are a lot of pictures with a human face. This is a topic that I think for myself the main man in his everyday environment, the characters and the mood of the people. Don’t always know those photographed. And often give people their own qualities. Therefore, we can assume that this is in some ways my self-portraits or a different me.
“Come to Church and see the bearded uncle-photographer”
-Your main set, as you said, temple, street, field. What dominated this year?
-I now rarely visit the temple. But temple somehow still is best. I think it is a habit. Church for me is an important place. Though I can’t say that I’m a very Church-going people. The temple is the focus of interesting persons, full of deep meaning, beautiful light. It is always fun to watch and photograph. I even somehow awkward to shoot there. Because people do not come to be photographed, and to God. And I see there’s a bearded uncle-a photographer that is trying to shoot an interesting shot. But I reassure myself that doing it with good intentions. So I continue to shoot.
“Shot the” all from the camera
-Please tell us about the interesting history associated with photography from the exhibition.
-I found a very interesting series of “may rain”. It was interesting to take it off. It was may 9 in Victory Park last year. The celebration was in full swing. Suddenly heavy rain started and the people unanimously ran away from the Park. All “bristled” umbrellas, capes. Someone was running, someone was walking sedately. I opened the umbrella, stopped in the middle of the movement of people and “shot” all of the camera who was walking towards me. Someone was smiling. Someone looked bewildered. And someone twisted a finger at a temple. The most intelligent asked which channel will show it. I filmed until soaking wet.
