In the attack 1 peacekeeper killed, 4 more injured
The Secretary-General of the United Nations, antónio Guterres, said that in Central Mali there was an attack on a UN convoy that resulted in the death of one Egyptian peacekeeper, another 4 were injured. About it reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to Fox News.
Guterres said that the attack occurred in the Central part of the country in the Mopti region between Bonnie and Douentza. Peacekeepers made return fire at the attackers, killing one militant, 8 more were arrested.
It is reported that the UN peacekeeping mission in Mali, which was launched in 2013, is one of the most deadly. As of the end of March 2019, it lost 195 peacekeepers.
