International short film festival shnit will take place in Moscow from 17 to 27 October and simultaneously in seven countries and on four continents. The festival venues will be the cinema chain Moschino, “Illusion” and “pioneer”. Also screenings will be held at the Museum of modern art “Garage”, said the press service of the show.
The festival program traditionally includes international and national competitions. Will be shown only 22 of the collection, which brought together more than 100 short films. In the national competition of the festival Made in Russia hit films with the participation of many well-known Russian actors, including Nikita Kukushkin, Marina Vasilieva, Maxim Vitorgan, Ingeborga Dapkunaite and others.
The international part is divided into blocks with color names that convey the mood of each of them: Dramatic green, Neon black, pink Silent. The competition also included a collection of comedies shnit Comedy and anthology of romantic movies Love shnit. Animation program for children Little&Short show in the children’s “Pioneer”. Among the films that are not to be missed: the winner of the “Oscar”-2019 in the category “Best short film” “Skin” Norwegian Comedy “Hoist the flag” with Jason Schwartzman, “the end of the line” with Simon Helberger and drama Aksinya Gog “Exchange” (world premiere uncut version will be held October 19 in the “Garage”). In the contest Made in Russia this year the curators of the festival selected from over 200 applications 21 film, forming four of the anthology. In the “Garage”, and the cinemas Moschino (“Star”, “Youth”) will be screened contestants with the Directors and production teams. Participants can see the winner of the competition of short films “Kinotavr”-2019 – steampunk Mikhail Arkhipov “Fuel”, a Comedy by Michael Mestechko “a historical mistake” with Gorchilina and directorial debut of Alina Nasibullina “He comes.”
With the support of the permanent partner of the festival of the Embassy of Switzerland in Moscow will come to the festival producer Jakun of Caduff and directed by Timo von Gunten, whose short film was nominated for “Oscar”. 26 October at 19:00 in the Multimedia Art Museum with support from the Rodchenko School guests will hold a directing master class and show his film. National competition jury this year took on an international flavor. In it was composed of Jakun Caduff, Timo von Gunten, Natalia Merkulova and programme curator Garage Museum, film critic, selector of the international film festival Rotterdam, editor of the magazine “cinema Art” Evgeny Gusyatinsky. Moschino will award a prize for the best film about Moscow. The winners of the national contest will receive gifts from Swiss, samizdat “dear Sir, Yes you are a transformer” and the Rodchenko School. The winners of the international competition will determine the audience voting and professional and will award cash prizes in new York on October 28. Films of the international competition are shown in original language with Russian subtitles, Russian movies with English subtitles.
International festival of short films shnit was first held in 2003 in Bern, Switzerland. Russia film festival for the first time adopted in 2014, then were Made in Russia, which involved only domestic films. Over the years in national competition jury visited film critic Anton Dolin, Zhora Krizovnicka, Ivan Tverdovskiy, Oksana Bychkova, Artur Smolyaninov, curator of pitching “Kinotavr” Anna Gudkova and others.
