The foreign Ministry of Poland called the vandalism an attempt to embroil neighboring Nations.
The Polish foreign Ministry has commented on the act of vandalism on the grave of warriors in Subcarpathian Voivodeship, calling it an attempt to undermine the good relations of Poland with Ukraine. On Tuesday, January 21, said the Polish Department at Twitter.
The Polish foreign Ministry also promised that the incident on the mountain, the Monastery will be investigated by the competent authorities.
“Given the recent attempts to embroil the peoples of Europe on the historical background, we see further acts that undermine good-neighbourly relations of Poland, this time with Ukraine. Regret one more provocative incident in the Monastery,” – said the foreign Ministry of Poland.
On it were written the names of the members of the UPA – the inhabitants of the surrounding villages who died in battle with the NKVD in the forests of 2-3 March 1945.
Board of graves of soldiers of the UPA had the status of a legal memorial places of remembrance in Poland.
The Ambassador of Ukraine in Poland Andriy Deshchytsia drew attention to the fact that information about the destruction of the memorial plaque appeared on the eve of visit of President Vladimir Zelensky, although the vandalism has happened before.
