The Constitution allows Putin to run for election in 2024 and remain in power until 2036
In Russia came into force the amended Constitution with the amendments approved in the nationwide vote. The corresponding decree signed on the eve of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

One of the points of change has become the norm that presidential terms of Vladimir Putin no longer are. This will allow him to stand for election in 2024 and remain in power until 2036.
Note, the State Duma March 10 supported the amendment on the removal of restrictions on number of presidential terms in the Russian Federation.
The amendment was brought by the Deputy from “United Russia” Valentina Tereshkova, world first female astronaut, received the award from hands of the General Secretary of the CPSU Nikita Khrushchev.
Putin made this option if the constitutional court does not deem it in contravention of the basic law. After the adoption in March of the bill by both houses of Parliament the document was sent to the constitutional court, which issued a report on the proposed amendments.
We will remind, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the publication of the Constitution, as amended, the new Constitution come into force from 4 July 2020.
