Dozens of people were injured in the incident. It is still unknown why the two trains were traveling on the same tracks towards each other.
Two passenger trains collided near the village of Pernink in Karlovy vary region in the Czech Republic. This was stated by the representative of the United corps of rescuers and firefighters of the Republic Martin Kasal on Tuesday, July 7.
“In the village Pernink happened head-on collision of two passenger trains, there is, according to preliminary data, about 20 injured, three people were killed. Some of the victims were seriously injured. The emergency sent the medics, rescuers and firefighters,” said Kasal.
Train is not yet established reasons followed toward each other one train track. Drivers included emergency braking, but was unable to avoid a collision.
