Acting President NAEK “Energoatom” Paul Pavlishin decided not to wait for crisis in the industry and quickly leaving position in a difficult economic period. Last week he wrote a statement on their own, which the Cabinet plans to consider at the next meeting (tentatively on Wednesday, March 25th), reports our source in the company.
Pavlishin was born in Russia, since 2012 was the head of the Rivne NPP. By order of the Cabinet of Ministers of 04.12.2019 No. 1195, became acting President of “Energoatom”. In February, he complained that he faced problems of payment for the supply of nuclear fuel and the lack of financing for the program under “Capital construction.” In this regard, according to him, in March expected a possible shortage of funds for payment of wages and payment of taxes.
Nuclear power plants produce about 55% of the total electricity in the country. Proizvodima nuclear electricity is the cheapest and stable. The amount of debt the Corporation has achieved in the last almost 3 billion UAH. Experts say that leaving nuclear energy as a strategically vital area of national security of the country without leadership even for a short time is unacceptable. Therefore, the question of appointment of a successor Pavlishina needs to be solved urgently in the near future.
