The Ukrainian delegation led by head of the Office of the President Andrey Ermak met with a Turkish delegation headed by the special adviser and the press Secretary of the President of Turkey Ibrahim Kalina.
“The parties discussed Ukrainian-Turkish relations and the status of implementation of the preliminary agreement, and also reviewed key bilateral cooperation mechanisms. Also, negotiations revolved around the priority areas of cooperation and specific projects designed to strengthen the dynamics of bilateral relations”, – stated in the message.
It is noted that during the meeting it was noted the need to intensify work in the framework of other mechanisms of bilateral cooperation, in particular with regard to the conduct of the 12th session of the intergovernmental Ukrainian-Turkish Commission on trade and economic cooperation and the resumption of the negotiation process on concluding a free trade Agreement.
Separately, the parties discussed relations in the sphere of military-industrial complex and the intensification of cooperation between the two countries in the defense industry.
As reported, during the meeting the also discussed the Road map of key priorities of the Ukrainian-Turkish cooperation in 2020.
In addition, the Ukrainian side expressed its appreciation for the continued support by Turkey of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as the attention that the Turkish side holds the protection of the rights and interests of the Crimean Tatars. An example of this is the readiness of Turkey to build housing for 500 families of internally displaced persons from the Crimea, especially Crimean Tatars.
